Little House on the Prairie

Daddy had promised the girls a playhouse at the beginning of the summer as an early birthday gift. They were really looking forward to it but we never got started. Now, last Saturday, we 

started. Mama said that it would be a good idea for me to title the blog post about it, Little House on the Prairie, so that's what I decided to do. Here's a bunch of pictures about our start.

he could work too.

Here he is, hammering away.

Daddy said that putting in insulation was a
girl's job. (You apparently have to do it gently.)
But the boys did it anyway.

Samuel enjoyed stapling the poly on.

Next they put on the plywood for the top of the floor.

The floor is all done.

The second evening, I did way more portraits than action pictures but I liked them so much that I thought I'd post them too.

Samuel had to learn to tie shoes that evening too.

The first wall is being put together.

Leandro ran around on the chalk lines, which made his feet
red from the bottom.

Leandro got to press the trigger on the Paslode.

Samuel did too.

And so did Elfrieda. (Notice that her eyes are
closed.)

Edgar got to use the saw too.

Elfrieda built a little house of her own.

Mama did some crocheting while we were building.

Yes, it took both of us to see if this wall was level.
(And then we found out that we hadn't even got it)

The children have played in the playhouse a lot even though it doesn't have a roof. In the next few pictures, they are building furniture.
